This campaign has concluded, and we successfully raised $13,040 for The Family Place! Thank you to each and every donor for your meaningful contribution!

The David R. Sellers Foundation partnered with The Family Place to raise money and collect bedsheets for the Creating Comfort Drive. The goal of this drive was to bring awareness to family and domestic violence while providing relief to the victims.

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, The David R. Sellers Foundation hosted a bedsheet drive where new, white, twin-size sheets were collected. In addition to the sheet drive, The David R. Sellers Foundation raised funds for The Family Place. LGE Design Build matched 100% of the donations dollar-for-dollar.

While LGE’s goal was to raise $10,000, they far surpassed that amount by donating $13,040 to The Family Place. LGE employees raised $1,520 and Creation, a local LGE affiliate, raised $5,000. LGE matched the generous individual donations to get their grand total of $13,040.

“I am proud of the overwhelming generosity of our community. LGE and Creation banned together to help us exceed our goal for the Creating Comfort Drive. It’s amazing what people can do when they come together with one common goal, to help domestic violence survivors,” said Carrie Masters, LGE Design Build’s Chief Operating Officer.

This grant will help The Family Place continue their crucial programs such as 24-hour crisis hotlines, emergency shelters, medical clinics, transitional housing, children/family counseling services, educational development and more.

LGE Design Build formed the David R. Sellers Foundation in 2014. By partnering with nonprofit organizations, the foundation has been able to give back to the community with a core focus on helping underprivileged children through their initiatives.

The Family Place is a Texas-based non-profit organization focusing on empowering victims of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling and skills that create independence. Since 1978, The Family Place has been providing everything needed to help domestic violence victims become survivors. For more information on the Family Place visit their website at familyplace.org.
