Building Comfort Through Creativity: DRS Foundation Partners with Gemma’s Relief Project

The David R. Sellers Foundation is proud to highlight our quarterly initiative in partnership with Gemma’s Relief Project, an organization dedicated to providing comfort, compassion, and support to families navigating some of life's most challenging moments.

Gemma’s Relief Project supports families whose children are receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) treatment at Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH). During a time filled with uncertainty, the organization provides thoughtfully assembled care baskets designed to bring a little comfort and relief to families as they navigate their child's medical journey.

One of the special items included in each basket is a coloring book, offering children and their families a simple but meaningful way to find a moment of distraction, creativity, and calm during long hospital stays and periods of waiting.

Inspired by this mission, the David R. Sellers Foundation partnered with LGE Design Build to create custom LGE x DRS Construction Coloring Books, bringing a little creativity and fun to families who need it most. Together, we designed and donated 250 construction-themed coloring books to Gemma’s Relief Project to be included in their care baskets. In addition to the coloring books, the DRS Foundation was honored to contribute a $2,000 donation to further support Gemma’s Relief Project and its ongoing efforts to serve families at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

While a coloring book may seem like a small gesture, we recognize that during life's most difficult moments, even the simplest acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference. Whether it's providing a creative outlet for a child or offering a brief moment of relief for a parent, these thoughtful touches can bring comfort when it is needed most.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to support Gemma’s Relief Project and the important work they do for children and families facing unimaginable uncertainty. Through initiatives like this, we hope to continue building connections, spreading kindness, and making a difference, one family at a time.
