Kids4Kids: Empowering the Next Generation Through Giving Back
The David R. Sellers Foundation is proud to introduce Kids4Kids, our first-ever youth initiative, created to inspire the next generation of leaders and empower young people to make a meaningful difference in their communities.
Built on the belief that giving back has no age limit, Kids4Kids provides young people with opportunities to take an active role in philanthropy through fundraising, volunteer work, community outreach, grant selection, and direct giving. By getting involved firsthand, participants gain a deeper understanding of the importance of service, generosity, and what it means to lead with purpose.
Each year, Kids4Kids will select a nonprofit organization to support through a dedicated campaign, allowing participants to see the direct impact of their efforts while supporting causes that benefit children and families in need. True to its name, Kids4Kids is built on one powerful idea: kids empowering kids.
Kicking Off Kids4Kids with The Foster Alliance
To launch this exciting new chapter, the David R. Sellers Foundation partnered with The Foster Alliance, an Arizona nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and families within the foster care community.
As part of our inaugural campaign, we introduced a dollar-for-dollar matching fundraiser, pledging to match every donation up to $10,000. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and the Foundation's matching commitment, the campaign raised a combined total of $10,105.96, helping further The Foster Alliance's mission of supporting children in foster care. Beyond financial contributions, Kids4Kids is about creating opportunities for hands-on involvement and meaningful connections within our community.
To bring that mission to life, we hosted a volunteer day at The Foster Alliance's warehouse, where participants supported the organization's Birthday Dreams program. Volunteers helped decorate birthday cards and gift bags and fulfill birthday requests, bringing a personal touch to celebrations for children in foster care.
For many children in foster care, birthdays can be an especially meaningful occasion. Through the Birthday Dreams program, The Foster Alliance helps ensure these children feel celebrated, valued, and remembered on their special day. We were honored to play a small part in making those moments possible.
Building a Legacy of Giving
While our partnership with The Foster Alliance marked the beginning of Kids4Kids, our vision extends far beyond a single campaign or volunteer event. Through this initiative, we hope to foster a lifelong commitment to philanthropy, encouraging young people to recognize the power they have to create positive change, regardless of their age.
At the David R. Sellers Foundation, we believe that investing in the next generation means giving them the tools, opportunities, and encouragement to make a difference today. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported our inaugural Kids4Kids campaign and helped make its launch so meaningful.
